Hiring craft on the lake at Druridge Bay Country Park.
Ladyburn lake is the heart of Druridge Bay Country Park; home to swans, little grebes, moorhens and many other birds. You might even see an otter if you are lucky. Our stable sit-on-top kayaks (choice of single or double seaters) don’t need any previous experience, and a tour round the lake can easily be done in an hour. A wetsuit and buoyancy aid are included in the cost, and showers are available when you come off the water.
If you don’t mind falling in, try a stand-up-paddleboard (SUP), and if you are really out for fun with (good) friends, we have the 8-person SUP – getting wet guaranteed!
You can take younger children out with you on a double kayak, or you might prefer an Open Canoe.
Our instructors will give you guidance on the best choice of boat, and basic instruction to get you going.
For those with more experience (BC 2* level), closed cockpit kayaks are available.
Why not try one of our Access sailing dinghies – these simple, stable dinghies are designed for wheelchair users, but are good for anyone’s first try at sailing. There is no risk of capsizing and the controls are simple to operate. We have both single and double seaters.
Tera / Quba sailing dinghies / windsurfers / Dart Catamaran – these are available for hire but only to people with experience at RYA Level 2 standard.
