This course offers an introduction to navigation and safety awareness at sea for anyone interested in sailing, motor boating, sea angling, seakayaking or diving.

It goes into more depth than can be covered on an RYA Powerboat Level 2 course, and is also accepted as a pre-requisite for the British Canoeing Sea Kayak Leader award.
At only 16 hours, this course covers the same topics as the RYA Day Skipper Shorebase Course (40 hours), but not in the same depth.

You will receive a course pack which includes a chart, plotter, dividers, course handbook, exercises and access to the RYA Training Electronic Chart Plotter.

How is the course delivered?
This is a classroom-based course, taught over 16 hours with exercises to complete along the way. It can be covered as a series of 2 hr evening sessions or over two full days.
