I am Team GBAs part of the I am Team GB try an Olympic sport Saturday during the August bank holiday, why not come and try canoeing, sailing and windsurfing at Ladyburn Lake just 40 minutes drive from Newcastle upon Tyne. Stand up paddle boards will also be available.

At the Rio Olympics Team GB did really well in the sailing, canoeing and windsurfing events. This is your chance to see what it is all about and have a try in the calm waters of Ladyburn Lake.

You can also chat with Vic Brown our manager who is an Olympics athlete who competed in the canoe slalom event at the 1972 Olympics in Germany. She finished in 6th place in a very strong field of 22 competitors.

This I am Team GB event is organised by the Coquet Shorebase Trust from our facility at Ladyburn Lake. Our building and slipway at the lake was partly funded by an Inspired Facilities grant as part of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympics.
