Hiring craft on the lake at Druridge Bay Country Park.

Ladyburn lake is the heart of Druridge Bay Country Park; home to swans, little grebes, moorhens and many other birds. You might even see an otter if you are lucky!

A wetsuit and buoyancy aid are included in the cost of the craft hire, and showers are available when you come off the water. If you arent sure what type of craft would be best our instructors can give you guidance on the best choice, and basic instruction to get you going.

Our stable sit-on-top kayaks (choice of single or double seaters) don’t need any previous experience, and a tour round the lake can easily be done in an hour. A wetsuit and buoyancy aid are included in the cost, and showers are available when you come off the water. You can take younger children out with you on a double kayak, or you might prefer an Open Canoe.

PADDLEBOARDS
Single person Crafts

If you don’t mind falling in, try a stand-up-paddleboard (SUP), and if you are really out for fun with (good) friends, we have the 8-person SUP – getting wet guaranteed! Cost includes use of buoyancy aid and a long john  wetsuit for each person.  The chances of you not falling in the water when out on a SUP is very slim, unless you are an experienced SUP user, so we suggest you bring a bathing costume, a towel and a pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet

WINDSURFING/SAILING DINGHYS
Single and Double person Crafts

Why not try one of our Access sailing dinghies – these simple, stable dinghies are designed for wheelchair users, but are good for anyone’s first try at sailing. There is no risk of capsizing and the controls are simple to operate. As we require to check your skill level before we hire these crafts, please contact the office for more information and hire.

We run training and starter sessions as well as tuition in small groups, just ask for more information!

We Strongly advise you book before you arrive to avoid disapointment. If you just turn up on site, we will try to accommodate you, but the facilities may not be open, or all the craft may already be in use. If you have any questions please email us at info@coquetshorebase.org.uk or call us on 01665 710367
Bookings can be made for any time, subject to availability.
