Discover the history and wildlife of the river, join a guided tour from our Shorebase on the Braid at Amble. From the Amble estuary with its wide variety of wading birds and wildfowl. We follow the rising tide upstream through historic Warkworth village offering some impressive views of the castle and fortified bridge. Continuing, time permitting, onto the quieter stretch of the river up to its tidal limit just past the Hermitage. Then returning with the ebb, a great way to see this beautiful part of Northumberland.
No previous experience or specialist equipment is required for this two-hour trip (please allow 3 hours for the whole experience to include briefings, boat allocation and changing times). We have a range of boats available for the tour and participants can choose between; single or double sit on top kayaks, open canoes or for the more experienced closed cockpit touring kayaks. We supply long john wetsuits, windproof Kags and buoyancy aids for the trip if required though you will need to bring a pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
We request that all participants under the age of 16 are accompanied by an adult and that under 14s are required to be accompanied by an adult in a double kayak or open canoe
Price £45 – adults, £25 – 16’s and under
