Open to all children, OnBoard is a beginner programme that gets people on the water for their first time. Whether you would like to learn how to sail or windsurf. The programme is also progressive, so you can work your way through the RYA Youth Schemes.
As well as getting fresh air and exercise, children’s sailing and windsurfing offer a wide range of invaluable life skills, from problem solving to confidence and teamwork.

RYA Sailability:
Accessibility
We are an RYA Sailability Centre and we have been providing watersports activities for people with disabilities for over 30 years.
Most of our activities take place at Druridge Bay Country Park, on a medium sized lake, but we also use the Coquet Estuary at Amble.
At both venues we have changing facilities which are wheelchair accessible. Access to the water at the Country Park includes a jetty with a hoist.
We have 4 ‘Access’ dinghies which can be used by people with severe mobility problems – they cannot capsize and you sit in a canvas ‘deckchair’ with joystick steering.
We have both solo and 2-person dinghies to enable a carer or instructor to go in with you
